In 2011, Home South Communities was awarded by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association a Gold OBIE in the Single Family Builder Attached $200,000 to $289,999 category for Hanover Place in Alpharetta and a Silver OBIE in the Single Family Builder Attached $200,000 to $289,999 categoyr for McGinnis Reserve in Suwanee.
The most prestigious award of the evening also went to Home South Communities. The 2011 Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association Builder of the Year award was presented to Steve Palmer; Manager & CFO of Home South Communities.

Reiner Rietig – Chief Operating Officer
With 18 years with Bowen Family Homes, Mr. Rietig knows how to build a successful home building company from the ground up. During his tenure, Bowen grew to be one of the largest private homebuilders in Atlanta closing as many as 1,400 homes in one year. For Home South, Mr. Rietig is responsible for the day to day operations of the company.
Stephen Palmer – Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Palmer spent 11 years with Bowen Family Homes as its CFO. Prior to that, Mr. Palmer was the VP-Finance for Trafalgar House Residential in McLean, Virginia for 13 years. He is also a past President of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and continues to be active in industry affairs. With nearly 25 years in the home building industry, Mr. Palmer brings a wealth of experience to his role as CFO for Home South.
Mike Moore – VP-Construction
Mr. Moore spent 10 years as VP of Construction of Bowen Family Homes managing a team of as many as 40 construction personnel. Prior to joining Bowen, Mr. Moore was with Owens and Terry (another successful home building company) for 17 years. Mr. Moore brings a lifetime of experience building the finest homes for Atlanta home buyers. At Home South, Mr. Moore is responsible for all construction activities.
